Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Wasn't bad at all, I'll take pics tomorrow. Wasn't my best welding, but they came out fine. Got one small crack on the drivers side of the front on the weld, but went back at the end when it was all hot again and fixed it.

Finished up the crossmember today by adding a gusset to the UCA mount, capping the ends, welding it all, and then painting it.

Also welded in the LCA mounts on the axleside including the drivers side inner tab to the cast. You can see where I ground off the overhang on the leaf spring pad.

Vacation is done for me so not sure when ill get to work on it again next.

It's nice to see someone make progress:clap:keep up the good work

Looks great, though I'm surprised you didn't put any gussets on the lca mounts on the crossmember.

Yeah, I just tend to build overkill if I build at all.

So I managed to gather some motivation to work on this thing tonight. Cut out the plates to box in both LCA mounts.

Ground down the casting next to the diff to fit the coil bucket right up against it. Doing so gives me a measurement of 37.5" from center of coil bucket to center of coil bucket. I think stock is right around 36.5"?

Also my pass side LCA bolt on the crossmember won't go in because the drain plug for my NP435 is in the way just barely enough. I'm going to get a flash mount Allen head style to fix that. Not sure what size NPT this is...

:scared: this will cause PROBLEMSSSS!!! ;) everything looks great dude. really glad to see you moving right along

those are the same coil buckets as me and i have zero issues, wull unless to go to the pirate ship

Between the infinate forces from your control arm brackets and the fact that those perches are gonna make the springs explode and kill small children I think you should give that axle to me for proper disposal
