Project family sleeper

well i got the two close, i needed a different offset wheel. and my deck heigth was WAY to low on the donor frame. since the axle did not have a "load ark" to it i was able to flip it and rase the deck closer to what i was looking for. i knew i had some diferent wheels laying around. low and behold there the same bolt pattern! and 15" 25k tires! hells yeah.

the new wheels. (streetpirate theese are for you) i need lugnuts for alum mags b4 i can put them on. it will give me just the BS i need.

the new axle is wider and is now above (or below depending on the way you look at it) the floor. i will need to remove the wheel well opeings in the floor, patch, and reseal befor i can move further with the suspention. this means the bed need to be removed to gain access to the area in question.

well after a couple days of collecting some metal, jeep parts, and thoughts. I got her back on 2 wheels. I managed to accomplish my goals, I "played the movie in my head" low and behold it cam out just about like I planed, and invisioned it. STOKED.

so here goes. I got the sawsall out, made some cuts. found the chopsaw made come cuts. then the welder came out. after a day of thinking and fabing I cam out with this

I will be cutting the floor and building under bed compartments for all my caned goods, axes, straps, cables, chains, tarps, and other similar gear. I may not get to the ET and front cabs by this years nwfest. but this thing is buttetproof now. I cant wait to tow it behind the jeep leveled out and stable for once. YES I know there directional wheels, I still have to fire up the tire machine tomorrow and swap stuff around for the keeps.

nice man!
great work!
....so are the horseshoes just for grins and giggles?

Your going to have the best handling RV on the road with those high performance tires. But are they going to handle the weight after you get the trailer finished and loaded to camp?

today was a very successful day. I got the wheel tubs done and installed, under bed storage done, and it is even level with the jeep!

pics...

I hitched it up to move across the road to the wood shop. I was very delighted to see it like this!

1.5" X 261/4" is all I need to cut for tire clearances

it was then time to move on to the under bed storage idea. I told Tessa to grab some stuff, and we headed over to lay it out. after some glue, staple, and cut action this is what we had come up with.

when I get the struts installed, this is going to be one of the best things I have done to the trailer since it construction. im really happy with it so far. it ready to drag down the road at speed for a test run.

I can see the light!

each tire is rated at twice what the last one were. I think it will taco b4 the tires give now. I think I overkilled it this time
