Project "Constructive Deconstruction"

Re: Project "Spring Semester Of 2011"

looks good!!! man i really need to get my steering tackled to and get to R&V!!!
i would have to agree. how far is reed city from R&Vs?

I've got a 3.73+ ring and pinion for a D30 if you're interested.

Edit: bold = have. Doh.
DOH! ;)

what are you doing with the old wheels?
i was borrowing the claws for the week from the buddy i sold them to. they were much better traction than my bald 32s. i left them on and sold them to the kid buying the claws. if i had known you were interested id have kept them, but you wouldnt have payed what i got for them. ;) i payed $200 shipped for them, sold them for $150.

i also gave away my 2 stock rims so the kid had spare rims for the claws, there were a total of 6. and i gave away the shitty KM1s that i had a total of $50 into. glad to see those things gone, it took almost 6oz a side to "balance" them.

im happy though, all i have in the garage now is parts i need/want to install and 2 axles.

awesome picture!

Do you or could you get more pictures of your tire swing? especially how it mounts to your bumper? and possibly a parts list you used to make the swing out happen?

Re: Project "Spring Semester Of 2011"

its just the C4x4 carrier bolted to a home brew bumper. 3x5 boxed steal. i need to finish the sides obviously. i can take closer pics of the hinge and latch if youd like.

EDIT: tire swing! ha!

yeah that would be helpful. I am in the process of wanting to build one. I have a C4x4 rear bumper I bought used from another member and I would like to just build the swing out myself.

Re: Project "Spring Semester Of 2011"

jakewi... still sitting on those pics. lol. ive been working 8pm-8am and today is my first day off. i should be able to make something happen.

can we get the name of this thread changed to something awesome?

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

well, the weather has been nice, so i got to work. my jeep, even though it is a '97, has the early model style door hinges. im halfway done i suppose. but the rear should be easy. no wires...

then there was the issue of a second mirror. i didnt want to spend a ton of money. so, take 1 old hinge, add flat stock:

cut to size, add 1 $2 stick on mirror...

it works. :)

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

youll dig no doors!!! loved it on my old one. Wanna do it on the new one but the boy is a little young for all that wind still.
i love it. now i take a backpack everywhere with me so i can take my face plate, ipod, sunglasses, etc out with me. also, i lock the glove box. everything else (aside from my heavy ass tool box) is pretty cheap. not much to steal.
