Project: 2000 XJ Resurrection

Hi all! I know it's been a while but I picked up a 2000 XJ today. It's been wrecked in the front (brick mailbox). A buddy and I started a business, you can check it out here. I decided a XJ would be better to haul tools than my Altima, plus it gave me an excuse to get another XJ.

Update: I got the front of the engine back together and got it running today. I runs a little rough, sounds like it's missing, but it sat for 2 years so this should be expected.

I was able to source all the parts I needed except the passenger fender and electric fan. Got to replace the steering and try to drive it into the garage so I can cut the old radiator support out and weld in the new one.

I got it into the garage under it's own power and started cutting the front radiator support out.

I love how easy it is to get to everything on the front end of the engine. Just need to get damaged area on the other side cut out and get the replacement piece cut to fit back in.

I have a front bumper if you want it. Silver one end cap is trimmed a bit And it was the drivers cap which looks like you still have it!

What dates are you in the Mountains? I am there from April 27 to May 1. If our dates overlap I could bring it back. Trail Rate works over near my house.

Just need get her running right. Cylinders 5&6 are misfiring now. The coil rail is good. New plugs, cleaned injectors. It did sit for 2 years. Going to change gas tank and flush fluids.

Looks like bad gas is the culprit. Dropped the gas tank tonite and poured it out, the has was pretty brown. I blew the fuel line out, once the gas evaporated there was a brown stain left. Going to put a good gas tank back in and some fresh gas, and hope for the best.
