Problems with the RC control arm drop kit

Ya I had the problem with my steering stablizer hitting my sway brace brackets I fixed that buy taking the RC ones off and putting RE ones on they mount the opposite direction. But now that my axle is so far forword my steering stablizer shock is rubing on one of the steering componants I'll post a pic when I get off work.

I had the same issue with my RE ones. I just trimmed the bumper and removed my sway bar and called it a day! Never had any issues for the 1.5 years I ran it. Then I upgraded to long arms ;)

call me to get this squared away i have a hard time thinking that someone here would of said no to a little discount for the new arms however i guess anything is possible. If you are interested in the long arm upgrade kit I can also give you a lil off as well. Dont get me wron the 180.00 is steep to give credit however I can give you some and then you could sell the drop brkts to cover the rest. Either way I am cool with helping you.

What other issues have you had with the kit?

Jason you are the man...:D
Now lets see if he is happy

I dont run sway bars now cause of this and nor do i run a steering stabilizer. id like to run both though... oh well... its not a daily driver so its no biggie.

I know Andysteiner lives out in LV but not sure on whether or not he can or is willing to help. good luck!

Try finding some buddies that work on cars and just get 2 big ass jack stands, a jack and some tools and get to it. not that difficult.

good luck!

just installed the RC kit and I had the same issues:

i have 6.75 inches of lift so my lowers were 16.5 inches long eye to eye

the kit did move axle forward some and i had contact with draglink and steering stabilizer/ track bar mount but a little pry bar action and i now have an inch of room lock to lock

lower arms are RC flex arms - uppers are RK adjustable sitting at 15 driver side and 15.5 passenger side

had to do some major prying to get arms in and bolts through - using fackstands will do that to ya though... overall not a bad install but for some reason i did not get my 2 1/2 nylocks for the two 4 inch 1/2 ;s but i had a couple spare...

braces do not line up great becasue of previous trail rash so i got all 4 self tappers in and will tack weld them to brace and also i am going to stictch weld around the braces... not going long arms so they are there for good

other than some wrestling to get bolts through the kit rides great! I did disconnect swaybar and shocks for those that install on the ground - they were binding due to the axle moving forward and it helped get the extra oomph i needed to bolt everything up at the new control arms lengths... every jeep is different so RC gives you a rough estimate for the control arm lengths - once getting coils properly seated and looking vertical i was home free

overall good looking kit - good finish - beefy parts but expect to put some elbow grease in getting arms set up if running more than 4.5 - 5 inches of lift

oh and it rides like a dream!!
