The MWC is a very large area, there is no denying that. If there are competent individuals willing to step up and form new chapters, I would have no problem with that.
I thought there was some talk about this happening not too long ago, and it seems to have died down and fizzled. I'm unsure of the current status of that drive as I was not involved.

The Midwest chapter covers a large area. I do not think that it would be a bad idea to split it up. This has been discussed off and on since the inception of the chapter. If something can be worked out that fits the dimensions of breaking the chapter up appropriately I will do my best to support it.
