Hi everyone,
Just got done putting a new power steering pump in my '96 XJ, 4.0L. It sounded fine when I started it and ran it for awhile, but then when I tried to drive it it was making a terrible noise when off idle. The noise goes away after the revs go up, but it is not a good sounding noise-like a grinding or something. The belt seems in alignment. I did not "bleed" the system , I did turn the wheel lock-to-lock after I started it, thinking that would be enough. Is the noise because I didn't bleed it? if so, is it too late to bleed it, if not, how do I bleed it? thanks in advance gotta go to work, I'll check back later.
