anyone know what gears PORC (Performace offroad center) uses? i heard they sell Yukons?

You should research PORC a bit before buying. Lately they have had a problem delivering product, answering the phone, etc.

PORC was thrown off of pirate4x4 for bad service, if that gives you an idea..

Check with one of the Naxja sponsors for a good deal on gears with good service. Nitro Gear and Axle or National Drivetrain can both help you out.

i got a set from them, haven't installed them yet, came in a white box, not a yukon box. customer service was ok, but there are far more instances of bad service online.

just get yukons, the sets of those that i have are beautiful

a friend of mine had porc gears in his D30 LP (ZJ 4.0 auto)
Did only moderate wheeling w. 31 MT tyres and when climbing a steep muddy hill putting some revs onto it he shaved the pinion thread !

Litteraly the pinion was pulled into the diff case destroing the ring gear
and after disassembly we have noticed that the pinion thread is teared off. The nut itself was ok.

When setting up the gears we have used timken bearings, spicer crush sleeve, shims and nut and u-bolt style yoke for driveshaft.
We did also loctite the nut.

I have porc gears sitting in the living room in a box waiting to be installed. Been sitting there since xmas. I was also wondering if anyone had any experience with their gears. Does anyone know who their gears are made by? I have also read the complaints on pirate but mine were purchased through a forum member on here.

The complaints about PORC was over some ATLAS TC's. Part of the problem was because PORC orders their atlas stuff directly from Advanced Adapters. My experience with PORC was great. I sent an email about when my order was going to ship out and the email was answered that day and I received my package 3 days after I placed the order.

id buy yukons...

Ive been running PORC gears for about 1 1/2. I havent had any problems. Im locked both ends on 33s BTW.

No, the straw that broke the camels back with pirate4x4 was an atlas - and PORCS refusal to make any effort to make it right.

PORC has been sucking everywhere for several years now.

correct, furthermore, it was because the atlas was ordered through PORC, was delayed for months, the guy wanted a refund, and it was not done. PORC basically passed the funds through to atlas, and couldn't cover themselves when they needed to give money back. crappy situation all around.

x2. what I was trying to say. I would also say that, yeah If I was going to buy an atlas, I would have gone directly through AA, but I won't hesitate to buy from PORC again.

i would hesitate to even look at their website. worthless company. still waiting on a lift kit for my wifes xj. its been 2 months since i ordered it. now its in my credit cards hands and mastercard told me that porc has numerous disputes going on right now for product not being delivered. alex the owner is a complete joke!

Its a shame that a well known and (used to be) good company has gone down drains with such poor service. I will still run my gears from them but will most likely not order anything through them ever.
