Polk sound system

So I've been reading reviews and what not and decided I want to go with the Polk Audio db5251 component speakers, check em' out, http://www.buy.com/prod/polk-audio-...em/q/sellerid/18756548/loc/111/204254735.html

Anyways, I've looked around on the tweeter location and found these cool things http://home.earthlink.net/~jeepzz/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/dsc04236.jpg
that apparently came with the infinity sound system on the 97-01 xjs. First of all I'm wondering if these are for sale on the aftermarket, not the tweeters since they come with the components, but just the panels. Maybe could I buy them from the dealership?

I was also wondering one other thing, would mounting my tweeters there cause my sound system to sound weird? Like, are they too far away from the actual speakers? If you have experience with this please let me know, otherwise I'm just gonna do it and see how it sounds anyways, thanks.

A little searching would have answered a couple questions for you...

Here's a current thread where those panels are currently being discussed right now.

Good call on going with the Polks BTW! You should add one of these:

I have two sets of those in my XJ. They are really great. I just mounted the tweeter to the door panel. My xj is about 200mi away ATM or I would post up a pic.

I just picked up a 00 XJ a couple of weeks ago. It had the cassette player and stock speakers. The first thing I did was replace the head unit and put Polk DB 521's in the front door and rear overheads. The sound is great! It could use just a tad more bass, but it sure sounds good for now. I am happy with the Polks. Plus, from my understanding, they are one of the only speakers that will play when wet. :music:
