It does suck and only reason I'm coping is (not trying to be corny again) by knowing there are ppl around (this forum and other xj forums) that knows how it feels to lose an old rig. I'm also getting good ideas on how to go about things next from ppl here :D

Getting it back and even not being able to make use out of it..I'm fine knowing that it can be used on others' rigs...like organ donating..hehehehehe

I've been following this thread hoping for a happy ending, but it was not to be. Not to sound corny myself, but I am truly sorry for your loss..I've experienced break-ins of both car and home, and I understand that queasy feeling you mentioned completely.
That said, you are in the right place and I wish you the best going forward..You are right, there are many people on here standing at the ready to help out in any way to get you through it, I've known many of these guys for a few years now, and that's the way it is here. Thats what makes it special to me. Glad to see you so staying above getting bogged down by anger and self-pity. Moving forward with optimism is the best way. Keep us informed!

Was hoping for a better outcome, like finding it stuck in mud somewhere and just missing some personal items.

Any more of the story from police? Wondering if they walked/ran away from the accident scene. Be nice if they ended up being charged..

I wish I could have gotten something, they won't even give me a copy of their report. The "Auto Squad" department that I went to is basically just a booth where they give out release forms, no other info. Only police officer there is the one "guarding" the entrance.
The impound lot isn't of any help as well. First two questions they ask were:
"Is your car fully insured or just liability?" If the answer is "fully insured"
the 2nd question is "Yo..we know good autobody shops and repair shops..You need stuff done? Let us know!"

Then comes "If you are fully insured, might as well take advantage of it!"

Bunch of lowlifes I think.
 
Can you imagine if we find out that these are the same people as the fella who was killed in a bad car jacking? Crazy world we live in.

Don't put any faith in that POS Sentry key. Mine was stolen in New Orleans with it. It also wouldn't let me start it after they found it.
