I was wondering if anyone knows of some trails near Edmonton Alberta and or in the Jasper, Banff parks. I'm sure there out there just can't seem to find the good stuff.....

West of Edmonton, all around Edson, there are hundreds of thousands of acres of Crown land open to wheeling. Also, the Cloverbar dump (east) used to be a really good spot for it. There's a nice sandpit that used to be open in the south, kind of west of Ellerslie-ish. You can find it by taking 23rd avenue west from 111st and just follow it until you are nearing Riverbend, watch for the south side of the road, you should see it. It used to be open, but might be closed down now. Also, check the 4x4 shops, they will have current info. There used to be a great shop on 63rd/Argyll near 99th. Can't recall if its still there anymore. Also, if you don't mind the drive, there is a massive sandpit near Bruderheim, northeast of Edmonton, beyond Fort Saskatchewan, its probably over a hundred acres. It used to be open to the public about 10 years ago, I don't know what its status is anymore. Also, check out http://www.detailplustires4x4park.ca/, they have an offroad park available for use. I also used to go wheeling south of Edmonton near Nisku, before Leduc, kind of East of the highway across from the airport. As you drive along, there's plenty of Crown land to wheel in. PM me, and I'll call my dad for you, he'll have lots of ideas on current spots. Don't fret though, there are dozens of spots you can go...

for the love of goodness don't get caught wheeling in any of the parks, jasper banff or otherwise, even if it looks like a fireroad is there. the fine is astronomical.

Between Banff and Calgary there is the Waiparous Valley, Ghost Creek and MacLean Creek areas. There are plenty of places to explore off secondary Hwy 940...which basically follows the foothills between Jasper and Banff.

Anytime!

On a semi-serious note though - you got it recovered with no further problems?

not only did I get It recovered but it actually seems to ride better than it did before the big stuck, I have no reason but it does seem tighter and more responsive than before.......no problems at all(unless you consider about 20kg of mud and clay in your parking space a problem)
