I think most dogs would give up after say, the first 10-100 quills either because of the pain, or because they figure out it was a bad idea. Not this guy:
This Pit Bull decided he would attack a Porcupine; but being brave, he learned the hard way that you can't always win, no matter how tough you are. The vet sedated the dog and removed 1347 quills...the dog survived and hopefully learned a lesson.

Damn! I won't complain the next time my dog gets tagged by a skunk. Cans of tomato juice are only .99.

Damn how did he not lose his eyes.

yea its old news, i hate how they say "This Pit Bull decided he would attack a Porcupine" it was probably curious and walked up to it, i doubt the dog ran up and started biting the sh** out of it

Relative of mine had a irish setter that got into it with a porcupine, they basically just cut them off and let them work their way out over several months. Then the stupid dog did it again a year later, stupid animal.

You wanna bet? We have had dogs get nailed by porcupines in the past. It actually makes them more aggressive the next time they get around one. I love dogs but they can do some stupid things.

dogs can be smart, but they don't seem to learn when it comes to porcupines.
we've had a few dogs that needed sedation to have 200+ quills removed.

Maybe dogs and porcupines are like rednecks and armadillos. They see one and just can't leave it alone,...

Pit Bulls are, in fact, very smart. They are one of the most intelligent breeds of dogs. Additionally, what you may perceive as being dumb is the fact that Pit Bulls have an extremely high pain threshold and are very tenacious. They will get what they want at all costs. Now imagine having a Pit Bull as your pet and be rest assured he or she will do anything to protect you as their owner.

I'm pretty sure if a pit bull had opposing thumbs, he or she would be able to find the spell checker also.

I got busted Sunday for relying too heavily on the spell checker, and today I get busted for not using it in all active fields! Musta' been my weekend!

If I was curious of something and I went over to see what was going on, then got blasted in the face with a bunch of quills; I'd be angry and mad the next time I saw one. I'd be all like, "Hey fool, your Cuz quilled me, now I'm gonna bite you".

I don't , I bet the porcupine shot all it quills and the dog still needed to be pulled off..

IMHO those dogs can be like a Shark at a feeding frenzy
