Hey guys I just bought my uncles XJ Cherokee it’s got a 3 inch lift and 31” tires on it and I brought it to the pinebarrens last weekend and my uncle told me that he heard people booby trap the water holes with spikes so your tires pop… how true is this statement?? I really like it out there, I used a app on my phone called onX Off-road to find legal trails, so I believe where I was was a legal off-roading trail inside the Brendan T Byrne state forest.

TLDR: can anyone tell me if the pinebarrens are still or ever booby trapped

I have rode about every legal road there and did every water hole I felt comfortable with and never had any issues.
