Pig Gig ammo

.40 ammo would be nice! And, Aaron, c'mon! All you have to do is keep it in the case.

all my pistols are .40.
there will be a large quantity of light target reloads.
180 Gr LRN.

oh, and this is not a ammo for sale thread.
donations will be accepted.
but I am not in the business of making bullets for profit.
just trying to get an idea of how much to bring.

I will compensate you accordingly. Maybe a little $$ and some ?

Last year we did Labor Day weekend(Sept.) and had a nice turn out. In the years previous it had been 400° outside and was on the edge of being too hot. So, last year we decided to move it back to early Fall. But, like I said, we're still up in the air at this point. We'll do our best to give plenty of notice.

So. Rather than trying to get all of this boxed up and what not I'm just going to bring bulk ammo.

I've got a new local source for brass @$4 per 100, it just sucks that I have to go sort it myself.

anyway, I will bring 1500-2000 rds of each caliber listed, except .45, probably only going to swing 500-750 pieces of that.

87 "transporting small arms cartridges into occupied territory" manche.

just ordered 1K each
125 gr LRN 9MM
180 Gr LRN .40
230 Gr LRN .45

the local cast boolit guy is cool.
His name is Hank Williams, seriously.

I can't wait for this! Last years was a blast.
Edit: Pun intended.

load data

.45- 230 grain Lead Round Nose, 4.8 Grains of Bullseye

.40- 180 Grain Lead Round Nose, 5 Grains Win 231

9- 125 Grain Lead Round Nose, 3.65 grains Bullseye

.38- 158 grain lead wadcutter, 3 grains bullseye

if anyone wants anything special cooked up let me know, but these loads have worked pretty well for us in a variety of different pistols.

I have a 9mm. Not sure if It will come to the pig gig because of the Illinois Nazi's. I will be bringing my .22 and I am looking into a Mosin Nagant M44.

I've got a registered full-auto M16 with a registered silencer attached. They'd really have a fit if I crossed the Illinois state line with that. :roflmao:

Thanks. What's sad is that I could sell it and have enough money from the proceeds to buy three 2001 XJ's.

Hey, there's nothing to be ashamed about a .22LR. Heck, with ammo priced as it is, that's about all anyone can afford to shoot right now. I've been tempted to purchase a .22LR upper for the M16.

Here are my .22LR and .45ACP:

Dude, tell me those aren't silencers......

IIRC, if he's got a Class-III license, he's legal.

No way would I be posting up shots like that on a publicly accessible forum, though.

You've got the right idea, just the wrong terminology. :)

A Class 3 license is for dealers who sell NFA items (machineguns, silencers, etc.)

Ordinary citizens who live in states that allow its residents to own such items go a different route. I simply had to fill out the appropriate paperwork, be photographed and fingerprinted, and have my paperwork signed by the local Sheriff. That paperwork was then sent in to the BATFE for an FBI background check and approval. The fee associated with this paperwork is a one-time $200 NFA tax, in addition to the cost of the NFA item. A "tax stamp" is attached to the approved copy of the paperwork. Each item requires you to undergo the process and $200 tax again.

So, for my four sound suppressors and one machinegun, I had to submit separate paperwork and fees each time. I can travel anywhere within Indiana's confines with them at will, but can only take them to states that allow them. And then I must file paperwork beforehand stating my destination state. Obviously Illinois does not allow them.

I love my .22's they are fun to shoot and really cheap. I also have a Marlin Model 60 and an XD so If i do have to shoot somebody or a bunch of squirrels, I got it covered! :D

suppressors are not illegal, neither are machine guns. They are simply tightly regulated and it costs to be the boss.

Tax stamps get expensive.

I will have a 22 suppressor sometime, these neighborhood cats are getting out of hand, and my little 22 revolver with subsonics is still kinda loud.

I made about 500 9mm rds this weekend. I'll polish off the rest of the brass on hand and switch the press over to .40. I ran out of .40 reloads at the range this week. So it's time to do another batch. Surprising how quickly that last batch went.

.22LR suppressors are the only "Hollywood quiet" suppressors out there. If a person only buys one suppressor in his/her lifetime, you've chosen the best caliber to go with. :D
