so, I am going to attempt to make it this year. There was talk of it at the campfire.
I understand much firearms play.
This makes me happy.
During my absence I became heavily invested in the making of bullets. I would like to bring some for others to play with.
Those bringing pistols, post up what calibers. Currently reloading .38, 9mm, .40 and 45.
45 brass is in short supply, so we'd need some brass in exchange.
Pretty well set for 9mm and .40 brass.
I could do .357 with the .38 dies, but need magnum brass.
I'll crunch some numbers and figure costs. Not looking to make money, just supply everyone with cheapo ammo.
box o 9mm can be reloaded for about 8 bucks and I can do approx 300 in an hour. 40 is a touch more, and .45 is probably about 10, but getting .45 brass is the big issue.

I have a 9mm. Not sure if It will come to the pig gig because of the Illinois Nazi's. I will be bringing my .22 and I am looking into a Mosin Nagant M44.

I can bring some reloads for your .45 rev, and we can try them out. Dad's 1911 loves these things,I think the load is 4.5 grs of Bullseye, topped with a 230 gr lead round nose. Last time we went shooting the reloads printed a 2 inch group at 7 yrds from his 1911.
I can do your .38 special, I think dad has about 2K rounds in an ammo can. He went a litle overboad with the progressive loader.
I don't have any dies for .32, 44 mag or rifle rounds.

Flex, if you are a resident of another state and are legally transporting a firearm according to federal law the illinois nazis can't do anything about it. and I'm pretty sure no one at the pig gig is going to call about your hi cap mag ;)

<Jake>I hate Illinois Nazis.</Jake>

IIRC, from when I resided in Illahnoizy, that is the case. I think you won't be able to buy ammo in IL (you won't have a FOID card,) so be sure to bring enough in from out-of-state.

Great quote!

and the second point is the reason for this thread. My momma taught me to bring enough to share.

You *DO* realize that this is gonna go downhill, fast, right? :D

Take that back. No Mosin. Got a Colt AR-15 22 on layaway.

If you were closer I could help you out with the .45 brass. I have at least 1000 empty brass sitting in an ammo box in my closet waiting for me to get the time and money to reload.

show up to the pig gig and we'll swap some stuff.

.40 ammo would be nice! And, Aaron, c'mon! All you have to do is keep it in the case.

Should have gone with a real ar15 and just got a 22 conversion for it.......

Yeah I realize that. Guess i'll just have to get a real one before SHTF like they talk about on the gun forums! :roflmao:

www.handgunlaw.us: Read what it says for Illinois

Be careful about third party websites. They're only as good as the information put their by the owners.

Not everything in wikipedia is true, either.

If you want it from the horses mouth, you have to go to the attorney general's office website for a given state. Quoting handgunlaw.us to the state trooper that just put you on your face for transporting a firearm illegally will not get you far.

Dates for said pig gig?
None set yet.
We're still in deliberations.:pig: We're trying to work around the pig's schedule.
Early June maybe..........maybe.........nothing in stone.
