Wife and I took part in the 3rd annual www.envy4x4.com / www.nmoffroad / www.coyote1025.com / Chilis / USMC Toys for Tots run here in Albuquerque.
A beautiful, if not chilly morning paved the way for a fun times in the Jeep. We arrived at the meeting point 20 min. early to find more than a dozen Jeeps already on site. A great way to start. It only got better, more and more Jeeps, Dodges, Fords, Chevy's, HMMWV's etc... started showing up.
No clue on the final count, yet... but in the 40's, most likely. Sam, a local DJ was the lead Jeep, I was the third Jeep. Was glad to be in the front (and the first XJ out of 8 or so), as some vehicles seemed to have issues.
The weather was great. Nice and sunny, all of the windows open on the XJ... that offset running the heater to keep the ole girl from getting too hot.
The turnout was was twice (or better) than expected based on prior events. The radio and TV exposure seemed to help. In fact, the guy driving the lead Jeep, and MC for the raffle was a local radio DJ. Sam did an awesome job!
With that, here are some pics. A whole bunch of them. Some taken by me, some by the wife or kid.
