Petition AGAINST "Thrillcraft"

Signer #1696.....

:explosion:explosion:explosion

From Thrillcraft website.....

"...use of thrillcraft, and the lack of exercise that goes with it, can even be said to promotes the growing obesity problem in the country..."

"...most thrill craft users view ORV use as a gang activity..."

So apparently most of us are fat gang members???

Did they even consider methane from cows? These are the people who didn't have enough toys as children.

Also, their effort to contribute to class warfare by trying to make us feel bad about how much money we spend on our sport is bunk. Ever been to an outdoor gear shop? Northface anyone? I've spent thousands on Gortex, zero degree down sleeping bags and tents. What about ultralight titanium cookware and microstoves that can burn anything from diesel, to gas, to alcohol? Cha Ching! Hell even a decent pair of boots is a couple hun. Give me a break.

Hiking/Backpacking is not necessarily a sport for the poor (since when did it become cool to be poor anyway), neither is skiing, or climbing. All that gear costs big bucks.

Those bastards put more propaganda and half truths in that thing than facts in order to elicit an emotional response rather than a well reasoned one. The freakin sky is falling people!:firedevil

I notice the CBD's logo is on there. They wrote the book on using the ESA as a weapon to close public lands. These guys are not to be taken lightly.

Argh. CBD right on the front page. Same people that got the road in Surprise Canyon shut down. Mr Patterson is the lead hypocrite. Here's where he was cited for being in an off limits area with his biodiesel (no road tax) suburban.

You don't know how much I'd like to slap that punk around like a bitch! This holier than thou asshat thinks it's O.K. for him to be there but not people who enjoy other kinds of recreation? Does he think the funds are only to buy dumpsters? I hope that numbnut collapses from exhaustion trying to haul his fat ass up over a dune and nobody comes to his rescue because he didn't pay the fees that pay the rescuer's salaries.:looser:
This dipshit is representative of the people who are working tirelessly to end our recreation on our public lands. That farrgin icehole!!!!!!!!!!!!

There trying to fight a battle they will never win!!:patriot:

The thing that really pisses me off about this crap is how a group of a few loud mouth nuts can f^ck it up for the rest of us who support outdoor recreation. Yeah there are a few asshats who go out and tear things up but there are also asshats on the other side who get way out of hand with their environmentalist crap. To them a compromise is not good enough. They are only happy if they can prevent anyone from enjoying motorized recreation anywhere. This is a nation that used to operate on the principal of majority rule but liberals have taken to ignoring the needs and the rights of the many to assuage the loud few who make a big stink about what is usually nothing. The only realistic solution to their concerns is better enforcement of the existing rules and regulations that have been passed to protect our environment from the jerks who would destroy everything in their path. If these enviro-nazis (this term is used to illustrate my point, I'm not really calling anyone a nazi) spent as much money paying for more rangers and other law enforcement officers to patrol the outlying lands as they do lobbying elected officials, the problem would be solved and the jerks out there would get an education in proper environmental stewardship. The best thing we can do if you don't want to spend too much time on the issue is to simply say something to the d!ckheads we see tearing up the land unnecessarily and dropping their trash everywhere and other inappropriate behavior. It is this behavior that gives the greenies their ammo against us. [steeping off of soapbox]

John you have hit the nail on the head.

so, a couple yahoo's are the reason this country is going downhill huh?
we have cops shooting people in the back, these thrillcraft pussi3s doesnt scare me.

No, the country is going downhill because some segment of the populace has decided that they know better than the rest of us, and therefore see fit to pass regulations that govern our activities thusly. Congress is like that - so are all of these PACs that cause all these headaches.

The political Left is worse about that than the Right - but both sides have them.

The problem is that we aren't "adult" enough - as a society - to get away with an easy-going anarchy. People still need an external imposition of order, because they don't have an internal compass to guide their activities. If they did, we wouldn't need lawmakers to come up with all of these asinine rules, and we wouldn't need police to enforce them. We didn't for quite some time - but we've been in a downhill slide for some hundred years or so. I just wonder how much farther down we'll go before we start to go up again.

And, I end up feeling like Sisyphus (look him up - Sisyphus' Lament) when I start thinking about things like this.

i think my point was, that while this IS an offroading forum, if the country is going as far down hill as it is, we have bigger problems then them closing orv's....

it doesnt matter if JV is closed, if we cant buy gas, and have to ask our new chinese overlords for permission to speak.

its an interesting time to be alive...

we must fight stupidity.... =\

Yes, we must.

And who is to say that all of these regulations weren't brought about in an effort to marginalise independent thought? Makes one wonder - how many people do you run into during the average day that are able to think on their own, for themselves, and without "toeing a party line?"

I'm willing to bet it's damned few.
