The car left today after spending the morning on the dyno at English Racing in Camas, WA. Aaron over there helped us get our fuel mixtures dialed in to keep it nice and driveable.

The car made 165whp and 173wtq and has a nice solid torque curve all the way to the rev limiter.

Warrior Products also stepped in this year not only running their team, but offering a Contingency sponsorship for both classes!

See you guys at the race...

just got home, awesome race. wish i could still be there =]

Well, sadly we didn't make it.

At mile 123 of our final lap, yes only 19 miles to the finish and the checker, our idler pulley seized and melted the serp belt. We worked on it borrowing two belts from other 1700 cars, and ended up using a belt from a full size bronco makeshift routed to get us going.

Sadly though, after 2-3 hours trying to figure out how to route it, it turned out that the quick overheat and shutdown when we lost it caused us to lose a headgasket. It looks like the head is coming off.

What a beast of a race, I'm sore all over.

what all do you have done to the motor? or is there a build thread somewhere that would list all that? good luck at the race!

It's a Jeeptricks build, Fat City Eric would have to chime in on the details, but its got a ported head with roller valvetrain and is tuned using a SAFC fuel controller.

WheelinJR. The head on your car is from my stable. It is one of the best Renix style ported heads out there with big valves. It was built by Dave Whitehead of WarpSpeed when he was building Curt Le Ducs motors. I regret the day I sold it to FatCity. I think Nick of JeepTricks installed it on their block. Regarding your belt problem, you probably need the early belt on that set up??

Good luck at The Mint in March and thanks for supporting Jeepspeed.

Yeah, I'll have to look into which belt it is. When I ordered it last time (it was new) I just ordered a 91 belt. I know the head is Renix, but I think the rest of it is later. I could be wrong, my memory isn't solid on that detail.

That sucks!! I walked by you guys in staging but no one was in or around the Jeep. Better luck next time.

I must have missed you there Andy... Too bad, it has been a while since I have said hi.

WheelerJr... Saw you guys on our last lap, and we sneeked by with a broken track bar, duct taped to the axle :D
Are you guys going to be repaired for the Mint?

Andy... Jeepspeed is all BITD this year, so look for me as well. 1786, See you at the Mint
