Well my 89 XJ decided it was mad that I didn't take it to Frostbite this year and laid down on me after I got headed back to my house. It was freeze your jublees cold and I got in fired it up and let it warm up for about 15mins. Got about a mile from my buddies house and noticed it didn't have oil pressure. About the time I noticed the lack of oil pressure I heard a little bit of knocking as the RPM's got higher. So I turned around and parked it inside of his shop.

So here are the options I can think of:

A) Yank the gimp and get a used motor

B) Yank the gimp and rebuild it

C) Yank the gimp and rebuild it as a stroker

D) Swap in a used motor to get me back on the road and rebuild the gimp then swap the used motor back out and sell it

E) Just say F it and buy a Titan stroker and sell the gimp for 50 bucks.

F) Buy a used XJ and swap my parts to it.

So whatever option I decide I have to talk my wife into it. I'm leary about getting a used motor that I don't know the history and it laying down on my a few months down the road and then I'm in the same position I am now. I would really enjoy rebuilding a motor but it is my DD so I need it back asap. So that makes the Titan look better and the Titan you can get a warranty.

What do you guys do? I want more power but I really wasn't ready to do an engine swap yet. I just got the clearance to start looking for used parts to rebuild it next year sometime. I love my XJ but man it's killing me.

I'd verify the lack of oil pressure first. Could just be the oil pressure sensor or the gauge itself showing the wrong oil pressure.
