BACK TO THE SNOW WHEELING TRIP :)

From: "Friends of Eldorado"
The Iron Mountain Information Station is the first weekend of the year. It is located 2.5 miles up Iron Mountain road. To get there, take highway 50 to Pollock Pines, get off at exit 60, Sly Park Road and turn right for 4.5 miles, then left on Mormon Emigrant trail (also know as Iron Mountain) 2.5 mile up there is an information kiok on the right side with a turn out.

This is a very popular play area in the winter as it is one of the few road that are not plowed but open to vehicles. it starts out at 3400 feet and goes up to 7000 feet so even if there is no snow down low, there is always snow up higher for people to play in. Our goal is to inform people on where they can legaly drive.

Please stop by and say hello. Just look for the large Friends of Eldorado National Forest banner and the people handing out information.

NAXJA has been a wonderful contributor to our group with a very large donation last year. That single donation allowed us to fund many projects and if there is anything we can do for you or you group please feel free to ask.

Hope to see you and your group on the 2nd. Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New year.

new tires on the truck, and repaired the bad ball joint as i discovered to be the issue on the xj. currie steering sucks. ive got 2 sets and even the new set is loose after 2 trips to the con. It drives great even at 85mph but most of the time. The fastest my jeep goes in on the trailer.

More rain and snow on the way. Hey Billy, what do you have to do to that thing to get it on the trail?

Reinstall my t-case and cross member, refill my transmission, bolt the front suspension back up, cut and patch the bottom of the the driver door, reinstall some weather stripping and interior panels, and reinstall the seats.

I'd like to shoot a little paint (or I'll have to remove all the weather stripping again) and mount and plumb the compressor (or I won't have a front locker).

I did just find out that I'll have all day on 1/1/10 to work on it, but that's cutting it pretty close.
