**NWChapter Random Thoughts Thread***

Curious how this next year is gonna go for the Chapter, It could be really good or really bad.

Looks like individually we have a great group of people heading to the BOD, hopefully they can come together and we can have a great year.

That said, I would also prefer a zip up hoodie.
LOL

I just hope it stays mellow and we can get more face to face time in this coming year..

Both good points. I think its time for another meet and great and build party.

Agreed!!! :)

I'm pretty new to the chapter, but I definitely think meet and greet and or some kind of get together would be great!

Man I wish we got lake effect snow here. Some places in upstate New York got upwards of four feet since yesterday.

Heard on the radio it was falling @~3" per hour! That's insane!

Where's a good place to kill a Christmas tree and play in the snow in WA? We usually go out by Ashford, WA but I'd like something other than a Charlie Brown noble lol.

The only reason I don't run a 242 is because you can't get anything but that Tom Woods SYE and a hack-n-tap for it. No real downside other than that.

And d35s are good for one thing, keeping axle parts manufacturers in business. LOL

edit: actually two things. They are also good for keeping parts jeeps up off the ground.

That's kind of contrary to what I've read. Can you explain?

Hard to explain, but caster/toe are your main perameters of a front end alignment, proper alignment is most important for drivability and parts wear..

Trying to keep the pinion angle within a reasonable spec comes second

Hence why you will see a lot of "bro dozers" with 30" of lift and no front driveline

So basically driveablility (wheels returning to center and less wondering) overrides pinion angle?

What would happen in the instance if I am at like ~5° caster, but my pinion still isn't inline. Should I go with less caster to get closet to pinion angle and inline? Or is the next step offset ball joints and/or cutting rotating the c's?
