**NWChapter Random Thoughts Thread***

Yeah I know the same carrier works for hp and lp, not sure about super 30s... the lowest an hp d30 can go is 4.88 iirc. Lp d30s and super 30s can go further.

I'm actually kinda hoping there is aftermarket support for the diffs in the Renegade.

The body styling isn't my thing and I don't like independent suspension but with a mild lift and some aggressive tires, better gears, and possibly traction control upgrades, it could be a beast.

Ballistic joints or Johnny joints? Got a pair of control arms off a grand Cherokee and both side are fixed rubber bushing, want to make one side a flex joint but don't know what type to get

Where's the cheapest for the JJ? Been looking around but can't get a good low price range for them. I know I can get weld on ballistics for 30$ a piece and I know the JJ full joint and such will be more but just trying to save a few bucks

I have no experience with the Currie's. My 2.63 ballistic joints have held up to moderate wheeling for over 4 years now. I'm just now at the point of my first adjustment/rebuild(s) on them.

Bronze.

Do you mean turning the adjustment ring to tighten it or are you replacing the entire guts of it? The adjustment on those is what got me curious about them

Rustys control arm bushings are the I5 bridge of this analogy :gee:

Got a question guys, how do you guys change your uca bushings? I've figured it's either a drop the axle scenario or just disconnect the uppers from the axle, but then again..... That would be too easy lol
Also to get the bushing out, hammer them out or???

-Easiest is Axle out with a big hammer
-Doable is Axle In with a Ball joint press kit.

Burn or drill rubber out, sawzall a slit in the outer bushing sleeve, collapse it with a chisel.

Wirebrush the shit out of the opening, then balljoint press to put the new one in. Careful you don't collapse the passenger mount, its just a c shaped piece of sheetmetal. Get the zoneoffroad UCA mount boxing plate (or fab one yourself if you would rather spend time than money) and weld it on while the bushing is out if you're feeling frisky.
