He offered them to me a year or so ago but I don't think they were for sale and if they are I'm pretty sure there made of gold
I'll ask next time I see him tho

Making a bumper, possibly.... 1/8" or 3/16" is the question though
X2 on BOTH the above posts.
1/8" WILL bend easy. That's why virtually EVERY single aftermarket bumper manufacturer uses 3/16" for the majority of their bumper.....and 1/4" for where the winch mounts and where the bumper mounts as well.
also if you don't have a strong enough welder, you wont get the penetration you need for solid welds to thicker material. In other words, you could break your bumper, it could fall apart or otherwise fail at the most critical of times....during a tough recovery.
Anything "recovery" related....dont skimp on. You'll regret it.
Good luck Larry, I'm anxious to see what you come up with.
Ya I have a heavy duty welder, my dad had worked on full size John deer tractors for John deer and he had himself a 220v one that got passed to me after he passed so I know I should be fine there, just got to get the design right for me and the right kind of winch that'll fit perfectly small but strong.
And speaking of winches, bumpers, and plasma cutting..... I need to get MY bumper going in the next few weeks.BTW Mike when are we having this plasma cutting party? I need to make some patters to box in my rear frame rails on my Jeepster.

DONE & DONE!!Wellllll it just so happens I'm not working next week! I'm free Tuesday through Sunday. So Jason are you free next week at all? And josh why don't you come over some night or nights after you get off next week and we'll figure it out!
So... Anyone got any specific tips for getting at the top two bolts when taking out the transfer case?
