Emergency stop on I5, I felt a pop when stomping on the brakes. Holy $hit.

After some evasive maneuvers I coasted to the next exit, slammed it in park, and dug out the vise grips.

Lesson of the day, check your brake lines.

Time to rip the dash out to replace the heater box.. (The reason the jeep was so cheap)

also doing a new steering box (Something happened in Elbe..)
New Hub bearings
And a bunch of stupid stuff (wiring.. etc)

Scott can I recommend using something stronger than a grade 8 for the steering box bolts. Is there something stronger than a grade 8? You should look into that.

I have a steering box brace that goes between both frame rails... This time around, the Bolts didnt break, the threads ripped out on one of the tabs:wierd:

I seriously go through more steering boxes then anyone I've ever talked too..

Grade F911, they have a minimum tinsel strength of 180.000 psi. But they don't like to be used in a shear situation or heavy vibration use. Using super hard bolts are not always the answer.
