I just spent the last hour @ the local wrecking yard with my trusty pad of paper and measure tape.....found out some interesting stuff....... all have disc brakes....pretty funky four link on the new models spring under all others right @ 40 inches to spring perches.....same as MJ...the four link rears lower arms are centered @ 44" and arm length of 24" is really close to perfect match with stock xj spring perches...jsut thought you guys might want to know

wms= wheel mounting system to wheel mounting system

not all are the same width!:

early model _ to 96' wms to wms is 58"

middle model 97' to 99 ' wms to wms is 60 1/2"

late model 4 link 00' to 03' wms to wms 63"

Bryan,

Didn't the older ones use a GM 10 bolt with a 7 5/8" ring gear?

CRASH

I didn't see any alum centers at all...could be mistaken though....also about using the gm ten bot looks just like the dana 44...gonna research a little more

just talked to the district rep for arb america and he said most american rodeos amigos and pasports in america came with dana 44 if it is a V6 it is probably a dana 44 and the same rd06 and rd07 will fit and so will all aftermarket gears...their aplication guide starts with teh 99 model and goes up so I callled to see if teh older applications are the same.

with slight mods yes....these are all either four link axle setup or spring under....would be perfect for an MJ!.....I am picking up a 1997 on Friday or Monday I will let you all know

The corporate 10 bolt that they are talking about is the ISUZU corporate 10 bolt...and it has a 1.32 axle shaft and 7 5/8" ring gear......(ten bolts hold on the third member)...they also have a 12 bolt

The Isuzu corporate 10 bolt is a GM 10 bolt. No question about that. It does not use a third member, but a regular cover with 10 bolts.

CRASH

The gm ten bolt is only in the troopers according to my isuzu dealer.....ARB even said that the 20 bolt they sell a locker for is the isuzu corporate 10 bolt that has a seperate third member ..talked with them about that yesterday..he said there is a ton of misinformation out there about isuzu....but I guess ARB could be misinformed also

Hmmmm.......I'll take a pic next time I see one. I swear they are exactly the same POS axle that is under my wife's POS GMC Sonoma.

Is my disdain for General Motors obvious in this thread?

CRASH

not jsut yours...I can show you aline of cracked in half chevy pickups at black mesa mine....fell apart from rutted road.....over ten of teh things

the 97 isuzu 44 axle I bought today is 60 1/2 inches wms to wms,
40 inches to center of spring perches, 48 inches to back side of calipers...and an XJ is 46 1/2 inches to outside of spring packs....so weld on new spring perches to over axle..make an adapter to join the metric brake lines to sae lines and thats about it..
