You'd think if there needs to be a bend that the bend would be there for clearance?

Misalignment spacers are over rated

I put bends in my steering to clear the swingers at bump full lock left and right. But I also had to make rubber spacers to keep my bends pointing forward so they wouldn't flop around on the misalignment spacers. =-)

when its straight as in horizontal it will not bind.. but as in the picture its "flopped down" but it also moves as it cycles up.. your rubber spaer idea is a good one do you have any photos of this or how you did it? kinda curious..

I was thinking that that bend wasn't necessarily for the frame or swinger clearance, but to adjust the range of the misalignment spacers on that side.

well the bend def has to be there to clear both the beam hanger the swinger is actually on the other side of it i believe.. cant really remember right now. but the gusset is bs.. when its flopped down it trys to rub the hanger bracket for the beams thats why i want to get pictures of ibeamjeeps rubber thingys lol

Let me see what I can do for pics. What I did was modify an auto fab bushing on the bench grinder with a wore out wire wheel.

oh so basically thathe (spelling) down an old bushing or something rubber just to in theory pinch the heim straight

thanks dude.. i really loved my jeep but have wanted a chevy truck on beams for as long as i can remember... the only i would have done different would be an extended cab. but im cool with the standard. it will be cool my lady hates the truck already so more room for the boys lol

Exactly and I think I only did it at the hanger end sense that heim travels with out misalignment.

yea the rubber will just keep it from flopping around due to the weight of the steering link

th400 with a fixed yoke on the back with a cv style drive shaft.. so it will work waaayy better with a 3 link rear
