That is a loaded question. What are you building your jeep for? How tall are you wanting to go?

Generally you can get away with 4.5" lift without long arms or drop brackets, your control arm angles get pretty steep after that.

I'm in the LaCrosse area which isn't too far from ya. I think most people switch to long arms at about 4.5 inches of lift or start using drop brackets then to get back some of the ride quality. To be honest, wheeling a stocker is still alot of fun and you actually get to learn what it can do so you will know what needs modifying. I would say you want armor before you get a lift. The armor will give you the confidence to wheel without alot of damage so you can drive a little more aggressively to make up for smaller tires. x2 on armor if Rev is Gunner.
