Hi all, My name is Rob, im with Front Range 4x4

my friend Hypoid told me to come over and Say HI!

anyways i own a creepy 91 xj that has basicly somthing from every year xj on her. Yesterday while i was closing my store in aurora Someone in a 79 Lincoln crashed in to my parked jeep. Hypoid said maybe some of you may be hording parts that could help me repair my ride.

preventing me from going home is:
i have a popped 33x14r15 TSL bogger.
and a bent rear leaf spring.

here are some pic's to show what has happened to my poor baby

Wow. And that didn't damage the frame or bend the axle at all?! Did they have insurance? That sucks man. Great time to get into a different set of tires if they have insurance and you get paid out.

WOW that rim snap and leaf is crazy. I'm sorry for you loss. but it can be rebuilt but like in4aride said is the frame ok? i cant imagin that with it snapping a rim and the leaf that it's ok. and not to take away from your loss that is or was a pretty pimp seafoam green Lincoln.

guy had no insurance, just found out......

don't think the axle is bent, i had no driveshaft connected at the time it got hit so it was sitting free on the leafs, but i have an extra.
6.5" total lift
i don't know about the frame as i said there was nothing but leaf springs holding the 8.8 still, he didnt seem to have hit anything solid on the jeep. just bairly caught the bumper and cut body

tire has an inside gash about 4.5 inches long that at one part i can see threw it. im pretty sure its gone

With that much force I'd seriously check the axle. Just the force between the wheel and leaf spring perch would be enough to tweak it pretty good. Crawlertech4x4 is pretty local to you and they are the axle experts, if you can pull it yourself and get it over to them they can check it out for not too much money.

You may have gotten lucky and the leaf bending ate up enough force to not bend the uni-frame. Admittedly from the one picture the frame doesn't look messed up at all.

Soooo are you taking him to small claims for damages? Or do you have full coverage?
I'd almost guarantee that at least that shaft is bent, if not the whole axle. It does seem like the leaf spring took most of the force but id look it over meticulously to see if it's bent. If so he owes you for totalling the vehicle.

nope...........
i just took a closer look after you guys had talked about it. he hit it so hard he cracked the glass in 7 places, bent up the dash bad enough to pop open glove box and actually cracked my gauge cluster

its gone.

I do have a set of RE 3.5" springs from the old days. Newly painted, replaced some pads, new center pins. They are used, this would be at least their 3rd go around. I have some one inch steel blocks I'd through in. I'd take $100.

That sucks. While that picture looks straight, I'll bet your uniframe looks like a parallelogram now instead of a rectangle.

Damn! A lot of blood, sweat, and tears just went up in smoke. I hate it when that happens!
