Thought some folks would get a kick out of this, I just bought a 99 little old lady jeep. Found it on CL. Pretty much a time capsule. A basic sport model, 4.0 auto, power, 29sp 8.25, super clean. check it out

This was the pic from the ad, running boards and all....

miles

Got it home, replaced a few exhaust clamps, got the running boards off, bought the parts for a tune up and serpentine belt. Other than that its a mint interior.

fits right in at home, wife says its too little....

damn that thing is clean, nice find.

AHHHH WTF!!!! why can't i find nice shit like that on CL.

ya, what was the price on that? guessing it was someone who just didn't need it anymore so a good deal.

send it to Drakken offroad and hook that baby up!

pretty much 6500, might be on the high side but I was chasing the low mileage ones & every time I got there to check one out, 20 other people beat me, so I jumped on it.

& yeah I dropped it of at Drakken last night!

DUDE that is a sweet little xj. I was starting to believe that xjs like this don't exist anymore.

I hope that little old lady's grandson didnt just swap in a gauge cluster with 33k on it.

odds are its for reals. nice find.

dick haha, car fax said so, it has to be true. But really it is, Ive seen too many of these vehicles to not be able to tell the difference, otherwise its a awsome fake. But original shocks, hoses, exhaust, allot of stuff that was pretty obvious.

WOW! You lucky bastard! Congratulations I am very jealous. Thats my favorite color, I've always wanted one of those. One hell of a find , my man, treat "her" right!

Blame chrysler... the mileage is stored in both the ECU and the cluster. A DRBIII can copy one to the other or vice versa but no one bothers, and the ECU doesn't update the cluster's data if it's changed.

I'm sure they could... if you could convince them you aren't trying to pull a fast one over on them to commit odometer fraud. They're probably going to assume that.

Best bet would be to bring carfax/something else that lists periodic updates to mileage and maybe even bring them the cluster to install, but that'll co$t. Or if you know someone who works there.
