New Off-Road Park near Salem, MO

Hello everyone! I am new here, so if I am posting this in the wrong place, just let me know. I figured y'all might be open for a new place to play.

There is a fairly new park located near Salem Missouri called FlatNasty Offroad Park.

FlatNasty is around 850 acres of awesome trails with everything from easy drives through the woods to big boulder courses to "pucker-factor 10" off-camber side hill trails with serious hill climbs!

There are currently 21 trails, most of which are completed (some are still in the works) and the potential for many more!

The park opened Memorial Weekend '05. The owners are some of the nicest folks you will meet. Ron is known to go out and show groups around the park personally...

There is currently primitive camping in the field with enough room for everyone that would want to come. There is also one real nice two-bedroom cabin that can be rented that is equipped with a full bathroom, kitchen, living room, and laundry room.

FlatNasty is located about 18 miles outside of Salem, MO - about 2 hour from St. Louis for reference. I strongly recommend at least Missouri folks to come check it out and would personally make the drive from IL to wheel there...

Glad to see some interest in the park.

Ron is always happy to have group events in the park. There is talk of a possible IH8Mud event and Capital City Crawlers out of Jefferson City, MO has had a couple of events already.

I am going to be re-working his web site and have plans to put an online calendar up to help groups plan and post thier events.

I forgot to mention there is also a motorcross track, and a real nice hill-and-gully course for the ATV enthusiasts...

There is even a hill called "Get-it-Billy" with a "bounty" on it. Drop five bucks in the pot when you enter the park and give it a shot. The first person to climb the hill (with someone from the park present to witness of course) takes the loot! **This is not a giveaway by any means - you will have to work for it**

Not necessarily a rule, but a very strong recommendation There are obstacles on some of the extreme trails that stop me in a buggy on 42's and Mog axles (and unfortunately I have left some nasty 42" holes on some of them)...

The intermediate trails are by no means boring. There are some very challenging off-camber places and tough obstacles on them. I would bump the trail ratings up one step with the addition of rain (we are really looking forward to snow).

Someone (to remain nameless of course - Ron) pushed a Cherokee-sized boulder off into the entrance of one of the "intermediate" trails. Don't worry, it isn't as bad as it sounds...

Not that a rig with 35's couldn't run any of the extreme trails, but there would be places they would likely find impassable. Trail 18 is what Ron refers to as his "competition course". It has two sections that I wouldn't attempt with less than 38's just due to the size of the rocks and the space between them. Again, it is up to you...

I would be more than happy to lead a group through whatever they were interested in seeing!

There should be quite a few rigs in the park during those times. Should make for a great time!!!
