New Jeep added to the family!

So I finally got the wife off the FORD kick. To save some money and since the lease on her truck was up in July the wife wanted to look around this weekend for any deals.

Snotty a friend on the CO4X4 board just recently got a good deal on a COMMANDER so I convinced the wifey to try looking at JEEP........Long story short we went in and walked away a couple hours later with a brand new '08 Jeep COMMANDER. 7 passenger (unlike 5 w/ Sport track) and a cheaper payment a month. The wife has buyers remorse and blames me cause all I wanted was a new JEEP. :D

It is not a JK, but for the wife's need and it is still a JEEP, couldn't go wrong. I already told her next year will be a 2.5" lift, rock rails and 265's ;) (she just curled her lip and walked away.)

Now that looks purdy! Has she driven cars that big before?

One of my FORD buddies has one for a DD, put some kind of 2" lift on it. He told me some of the crap you have to go through just to go over 2" lift, the same money can totally refit his Bronco II. Show her the price tag for that and she just might lighten up a little about building the XJ.

Who's the dude sitting in your garage?

It's a common misconception that Santa lives at the north pole. As is evidenced here, he actually hangs out in Skully's garage.

That's me papa! We made him a room downstairs and he lives with us. He got older and less responsible and since I am the only kid guess who has to take care of hiM? (Maybe not for long the wife is about ready to kill him! :wave1:)

That is his CJ next to the Commander....................and my XJ is on the other side out of vision.

The odd thing is the Sport Trac was longer, now we have an extra 1.5 ft in the garage. I looked into the lifts already 2-2.5 is the easiest and cheapest and can run 265's (which is like a 31.5"). The kits above that are ridiculous! One from Superlift I believe is $2600 and the amount of work is silly ridiculous, not to mention you have to re-program your ESP crap! Not worth it. Maybe in 5 years when the thing is paid Off I will do a Solid axle swap :D

Overall pretty cool deal; free Sirius for a year, killer sound system, LoJack, FLex fuel capable, V8, all wheel drive..........holds the WHOLE family! We didn't get one with the cool skyroof thing, but after a couple years those always leak anywho.....................

Ya cause I am working on Santa's CJ-7, now if only the bum will buy some parts to get the damn D44's sitting on my garage floor installed on his Jeep I would have more moving room!

Nice!

I can see your pregnant wife trying to get in that with 39's on it.:roflmao:

 Nice!!

Looking at upgrades and shit, holy crap!

MOPAR = Most Of Purchasers Are Rectal-raped

Tow hooks $108, skid plates $60-$150, mostly MOPAR & pricey! Do you think this is worth $461?

There are a few aftermarket stuff, saw a cool front winch bumper for $1100 from getlost4x4.com

Rocky Road outfitters make rocker guards $400, MOPAR version $540 ouch!

I recently added another Jeep to my family too, a '98 ZJ. My bone stock '90 XJ daily driver (with 327,000 miles) is beginning an engine swap, and an upgrade of suspension, tires, and drivetrain (if Uncle Sam comes thru with that refund check). Four Jeeps in the family now AND I finally convinced my daughter to get a Jeep and trade in her '02 Ford Taurus. She wants a 97 or 98 XJ, with less than 100,000 miles, so I'm on the lookout for one.
