Just picked up my 96' Cherokee Sport this past saturday. I plan on doing some light trails at first, but then a little more advanced as I get better, and the truck gets mods.

I have had numerous performance street cars I have Drag raced, or AutoCross raced. (LS1 swapped V8 Mazda RX7, LS1 C5 Corvette, Swapped Civic/B18C1, 6spd LT1 Trans Am, MR2 Turbo, new Mini Cooper and many more cars, and this is my first 4x4.

I have learned quite a bit in the past week about the Jeep mods, but any hints and ideas are welcome

Why'd you ditch the wankel?

welcome, im in that area everyday! noblesville sounds like fun, let us know what it was like. A few of us might head over there saturday

Are the pits a legal area? I used to go back in there in high school with a few buddies, and it wasn't exactly allowed.

Added some more pictures on that link from Friday, got good and stuck a few times. My buddy was with this time, so I wasn't afraid to go in the nasty stuff. He took some of my XJ I will add to the link later

Well, this weekend there were at least 15+ other trucks, and 10+ quads out there running around. People fishing etc..

It's a regular park, there are no trespassing signs farther south but not around this place. Fun times!

That still doesn't make it legal. AFAIK Redbird and Interlake are the only "public" wheeling areas in Indiana, and I know Noblesville doesn't have a sanctioned OHV park. If it is in a gravel pit, even if it is not in service anymore, is still private land and you need the ok from the landowner to be back there. Just because there were 25+ people there doesn't mean it's allowed.

The pics you posted of being in a creek/river are excellent fodder for the environazis to start shutting down legal OHV areas, and I don't want to see Redbird shut down due to some "soil contamination evidence" found in Indianapolis.

I'm not trying to start a pissing match, but please check into the legality of the area before you or anyone else in the area gets in trouble. If it's allowed, I'll be there to explore/wheel as soon as I can :D
