I like the evolution of this product, however the angled lip on the top may add strength to the armor, but prevents welding the perimeter to the unirail and also creates a place for trail crud and water to hang out and rust.

Hmmm.......isn't the floor a much thinner gauge steel than the uni-rail? Not trying to bash the product, just understand the logic behind the design.

What would you need to drill. We already have plug weld holes along the face.

Set your welder to the lower gauge steel. In this case you should set your welder to 18-20 gauge and apply the heat to the stiffener and drag it to the floor. Use a brass or aluminum block on the back side to help reduce the possibility of burning through.

For anyone's concerns about the floor tie in, you do not have to use it. This bend towards the floor and the 3/16" will give you substantial strength improvement even if only using the plug welds. Simply seam seal it if you don't want to pull back the carpet.

Have you mocked up a set of these on an MJ? Or have anything in the works for us MJ guys?

Any plans to make these for ZJ's? I could be your first order.
