Hey all I decided to finally join. I've had my xj for about 2 year. Unfortunately since I bought it I've had money problems, got laid off twice so I really havent been able to do much to it. I got it from a friend of mine and another friend of ours had owned it for most of its life.
When I bought it, it has a 4.5 RC lift with most likely AAL's
And then about a month or so after I bought it I veered off the road and hit a telephone pole at about 50 MPH:doh:
Pretty much destroyed my front end. This Jeep has had alot of history with us, so we decided to fix it. I found a 91 on craigs list for about 500 bucks. My brother went with me to figure out why it wasnt running. Bad starter, bought it, sold the motor to a buddy and I had a donor Jeep. It was alot rougher looking than mine, and the interior was nasty. What i couldnt get off of the donor we got from the JY... But basically we hacked the front of the unibody off the red jeep and welded it to mine replacing all the damaged sections. My axle was also wrecked which you may be able to tell by the wheels in one of the pics so we swapped that as well along with pretty much the entire front end. The 91 has a disco d30 so 4wd doesnt work. I've never wheeled in it, but I'd like to when i get my finances straight. With some luck that should be soon.
My brother got me into Jeeps, I helped him put his 84 CJ together from just a frame.
But Yep that's my story looking forward to having some fun on :
