Ok so im guilty of reading NAXJA for a long time but im just now getting around to joining, and now posting for the first time.

So to start off this is not my first XJ but its my second. I HAD a 98 cherokee sport, Till some one ran a red light and pulled out in front of me and i tee boned him. My cherokee was a total loss. So after months of looking on craigslist and for sell ads and having friends on the look out for me i found a 2000 cherokee sport that i liked. It wasn't near home, so it was an adventure to go get as well. The trip was about a 240 mile trip one way. Took a whole day to go look at it, test drive it and drive it home. After i got there i knew it needed a few things more than the guy told me on the phone, but he had already put on a new steering box the day before because i told him if i was going to come all that way and pay what he was asking that it better be worth it, and it sure as well better make it home. any ways i drove it around and crawled all over it like a little spider monkey checking it out guy must of thought i was crazy but i knew it was already 4pm and we had not stated back yet so i knew it long be dark before we got back home. the last thing i wanted to do is be one the side of the road fixing my new jeep. so any ways it all looked good to me so we did the paper work and off i was home. It was a far ride home and jeep did good even if i drove it 240+ miles with no brakes up and down Mts. lol.

the brakes were the first things to fix. the guy i got it from said he had put a set of back brakes on and it ate them up in like 2 weeks, so he put a new set on then he had no brakes in the rear at all. so i drove it home that way hoping no one would pull out in front of me with this jeep even more so because i had to stop like a mile before my stop just to stop. lol.

come to find out the brakes had new shoes the just needed to be adj out to the drum..... duh.....

so like a week into having the new jeep on the way home from work this strong burnt plastic smell feeled the cab of the jeep. got it home it was the bearing on the A/C comp. had that fixed to a tune of almost 600.00 errrr

still fixing the small things.

will post pics soon
