New Guy in Iowa

I have been on here for a little while just never introduced my self or my tuck so here goes.

I am building an 89 MJ it has about 6” of lift right now and I think that is were she is going to stay. I am slowly getting this thing done for this is my first truck I have built. And I am always learning as I go and this place has a lot of great info. So some spec of the MJ:


-89 Short Bed was 2wd

-6” coils up front (I don’t know what brand as the truck was started by some one else when I got it)

-I am going to be running the Rock Kawler track bar

-Upper and Lower control arms are Rusty’s

-D30 upfront and out back the Ford 8.8 w/3.55 gears for right

- Motor is the 4.0 backed with the stock junk 5 speed and stock t-case.

- Running 33x12.5x15 Baja Claws on 10” Black steel American Racing Rims

Make It Or Break It I have not joined the club nor have I been out there but from the guys that I have talked to it sound like a great club so as soon as the truck is done I will be joining hopfuly. Yeah one of my friends has been there. He says it's pretty sweet. I am going to try and make it to the insane cliffs this weekend in IL. Should be fun never been there before.

Always good to have more Iowans, maybe someday we'll have real public wheeling grounds if there's enough of us.

there is enough strip pit land around here you would thinks there would be one already just my thought.

Land is in the 'works' so to say. The Iowa Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs-IA4WDC.org is working with a few 'places' to open up a public wheeling area. BUT for this to happen we(I'm a delaget for MIOBI.org to the IA4WDC.org) Need the support of local wheelers. Join a IA4WDC member club(Goto IA4WDC.org for a list of clubs near you) and help fight for the rights of Iowa fullsize wheelers.

I am going to join MIOBI as soon as the truck is done as far as the public wheeling place in IOWA that is kick a$$ I am welling to support what ever where ever. I just hope that it is close to enough to me that I can attend on my days off. That why I like MIOBI I am 20 min. out from them so I don’t need a truck and trailer to tow my junk to the trail yet. I am new to the off road world so it would be nice to learn more about where this is going and what can be done to help out.

I need to re up my membership to miobi again. We could use more ground to 4 wheel on for sure. We just got Renix Power out on the trails for the first time last fall. There a total of 5 rigs in usual groupand we are always looking for something new. With 5 capable jeeps around we always have someone that wants to go sometime.
