I am reworking the 63 Muncie M21 and clutch in the Sting Ray, and want something to last the next fifteen years (until the kids get out of high school and I can take time off for the restoration).

Are Centerforce pressure plates worth the expense? What works, and what do you recommend?

I like the pressure holding abliltiy of the Centerforce. If I still believed in clutches that is what I would buy.

Ram, Zoom, and ? make the same type of design though. It's a pretty simple concept that takes less pressure to push (after depressed some) and it uses the centrifical force to provide more holding pressure with wieghts on the fingers.

Guys I knew burning up stock clutches stilled burned up centerforces. They lasted longer but still wore out. It was just plain driving with them though, roasting the clutch was like spinning tires. Hammer the gas and let the clutch out real slow. I guess they thought they were spinning the tires. :D

There are a couple mfg's that offer a lifetime warranty. They don't seem to have the holding power though. If your running some power through it they might not hold up that well and just be a hassle.
