New "Assault Weapons Ban"

Interesting to note that every sponsor of that bill is a Democrat.

So far, anyway. ;)

Point taken. And while I'm by no means saying that a Republican would never support gun control measures (Bloomberg, Giuliani, Schwarzenegger, et. al. are a serious disappointment on that front), I never cease to be amazed at the 'we know what's best for you' attitude from the Democratic Party.

In another thread, I'd said I "fear government" more than I "fear God." Why is that? The answer is simple - God has only given us 10 rules to follow, and they've been the same for two thousand years. Government is constantly changing the rules - what was allowed to-day may become streng verboten next week.

Any game where the rules can be changed at will is unfair.

actually if you go by 'The Book' god gave us 618 in the new testament and 613 in the old :D :D :D

Wiseass.

Still, how long has it been since they've been changed? And, they'd probably fit in a small to middlin' paperback book, rather than needing a whole library...

I held off on reading this yesterday. Glad I did today.
:lecture:Didn't these dumbass MFing idoits notice that the last ban proved nothing, it didn't accomplish anything except making a few crazy people all warm and fuzzy on the inside, if criminals need a firearm to commit a crime with they aren't going to go to the local gun shop and by a nice 1911 for sale price, they're going to find some scumball way of picking one up off the street for a dimebag, when will politicians notice this?
A couple more months and I can actually vote on what my government decides is best for me.

Can't wait to see how the media and government will use the recent VT incident to push this bill. The students should have been allowed to be armed, and such a masacre would have never have happened. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and shooters families.

If they do try to do that, it likely won't go anywhere. Today's shooting was carried out with pistols, not carbines, and if anything proves that there's a valid need for CCW. Probably not going to happen.
