NETSCAPE (in)Compatability?

Work uses outdated Netscape 4.73 and it has lost it's ability to view the NAXJA Forum's post window. I can read threads, but cannot post.

It is something that can be fixed, or ?

Netscape 4.73? pretty unlikely. 4.73 does not handle CSS properly. Any chance they can use a more modern browser? Even Mozilla Firefox? It works.

Is it Win95 compatable?

It hard to leave the cave when you live in the Stone Age.

Huh? Dang Ed. Surely there is a law in California somewhere against making people use Win95?

No, Firefox does not (I think) support Win95. Not much does, and surely most of the internet is leaving that tech behind.

If you are stuck with it, and have no choice.... yikes. I HAVE browsed the forums with command line.... not to bad... not as easy, but not too bad.

Have you tried the other skins, just for fun?

I have tried all the skins: no joy.

Browsing is not a problem, fast and reliable, ... but not posting is available as the post window will not show up.

Win95 is a crime, one that I hope work evolves past in the near future (until then I can browse, but not post, from the work location).

Ed --

I'm a Netscape user (to Glenn's dismay, I'm sure). I have updated to version 7.0 (I think the spare spare machine is actually accidently at 7.1, but I rarely turn that one on) and aside from an occasional weirdness (see my recent post in this very forum) it seems to work fine.

When I was still using 4.7x, if I encountered a site that Netscape really choked on I swallowed my pride and fired up Internet Explorer. It comes on every machine, so unless your IT people removed or disabled it, it should be there. Have you tried that? You should be able to log on with Netscape, then open IE right next to it/over it and use IE for whatever purpose(s) you need, then close it down again.
