Need some ideas.CO2 mount.

damn thats nice! may have to copy it haha

Thanks for the replys,

Mosephus, if yours is a 10lb bottle, then mine has to be at least 15# if not a 20#. I honestly dont know... I got it for cheap. It last forever, is easy to swap out, and works like a champ. I would say based on yours that its a 15# tank. Its not light when full.

I dont think mounting it to the box would work, but would like to leave it in that general area. I am thinking of a mount that bolts to the floor and also to the c-pillar/old seat latch area. There is a decent amount of material in there, but the mount will be a pain to fab up. Guess I know what I am doing tomorrow... unless someone comes up with something better. Too bad you cant use these things laying down.

I will post up pics of what I come up with...

(Nice looking Choco Lab BTW, I have one as a co-pilot as well. She is my baby, second only to my wife.)

I have one too. She is a good dog. Pretty sure one of the parents is part golden retriever or something. she has pretty long hair compared to other chocolate labs.

BTW Stump, great fabwork as always!

Post up a pic! That sounds like an interesting combo. My lab sheds enough to make a small pillow every week, I couldnt imagine if her hair was longer!!

Interested in what you paid for your co2 setup, I'm in the process of looking for my own

I think it was $40 bucks total. Came with two tanks, fixed regulator (100Psi), and a coil hose. One tank was full, the other was empty. It was a steal...

The tanks are all over craigslist.

Spent a couple more hours today getting the strap and mounting tabs welded on. I will paint it and mount it tomorrow. I am pretty pleased with it. It aint perfect, but its a damn site better than a ratchet strap to the tool box.

Welded on the rear mounts.

Next up was to make a hinge/pin for the strap. Just some stuff I had in the nut/bolt bin around.

Locking nut gets welded into here.

Heres what it looks like with the bottle sitting in it.

Made the strap out of some 16 gauge as well. Welded one end to the hinge pivot, bent a 90 on the other end. A few speed holes for style points. Made the t-bar out of some 8mm allthread I had. Turned it down in the lathe, welded on a collar, welded on the "T" and viola.

Its finished at this point. might have missed a photo or two, but you get the gist. I moved it a little further forward in the jeep, just because, but it still fits ok. Its not bolted down, just sitting there.

Ill get some paint on it and bolt it tomorrow, then I am loading up the trailer for a weekend of camping in the mountains... woohoo!

Yep, that does make sense. I was planning to put some sort of coping around it. It might not cover the entire backside of the strap, but definitely the top and bottom edge. Just got back from a camping trip, so itll have to wait... I havent even mounted this thing in the Jeep yet. Just strapped it down to my camping trailer for the weekend..

Thanks! ~ Stump
