Need some advice, axle shops

I had some unexpected medical bills pop up and took a chunk out of my budget. I'm going to have to re-look at my options, but looks like I only enough to gear the back just to get the 4x4 back. This isn't what I wanted but, with a baby on the way, money is harder to find around lately.

Where would you find 8.8? Back in Utah, I know of several places, but I haven't had a whole lot of luck with JYs here. Unless I can find one cheap and quick, I might just have to gear the 8.25 a deal with it until I get some bills paid off.

If your max tire is a 33-35 an 8.25 will be fine, just regear that, those are actually slightly easier to regear anyways as they have the spammers for the carrier adjustment

So like everyone's telling you.... Buy an 8.8 WITH the gears in it and a posi.
Ruff stuff perch and ubolt kit. Done. Cost you $300-500 depending on 8.8 condition.

ok, so I found a decently priced 8.8 that I should be picking up this afternoon. I'm going to order the u-bolt kit after that. So in the next couple days I should have it in. Ill post up some pics after.

**** ya bro!

Where are you getting the axle from? Can you pull the diff cover to make sure it is a 4:11 axle?
Since the entire reason you're doing this is for an already geared axle make 100% sure it's the right one.

I got It from Terryville auto, The tag on the Axle says 4:10, I haven't cracked it open yet but if its not Its going back!

Yep, I got it for 200, and 50$ core. So If I can't sell the 8.25 for more than that I'll go get my core fee haha.

Also, cracked it open and the ring says 4:10. So we're good there, but unfortunately it's an open diff. No posi. :( How ever, I couldn't get the bolt out that holds the center pin in, so I couldn't remove the axle shafts to clean up the parking brakes. Oh well. I'm just waiting on my kit from ruffstuff to get here then I can put it in.

Sweet if you need any help I'm in the area and don't have an issue with helping or getting parts

Awesome!

I'm out in Windsor.

I should have everything ready to go, just need to find a flange adapter. And some tall jack stands...... Ha

Well flange adapter 1-3 options
1 spicer part
2 trip to the u pull and grab either a danger flange adapter or an early sploder flange
3 run a crossover u joint

Where's a good u pull it?

I'm new to the area and don't know of any junk yards. I'm assuming that pulling one from the JY would be the cheapest. Everyone else wants like 35-40$ for the spicer part

I have an extra one. I'm only about 20 minutes from you. $10 I run the same one in my jeep with a combination joint

tried to PM you, but your inbox is full.

But I will defiantly take the flange off your hands.

PM me and Ill send you my number:thumbup:
