I've got the gear shifter from a 1990 XJ if that'd do you any good. I'd say probably $20 shipped to your door. Let me know if that works for ya.

I got your pm but pms still aren't working. Shoot me an email to [email protected] if you want the shifter. Also, not to discourage you buying the other guys stuff, but I think the TCU on 97+ XJs is different. Also if you get his gear shifter you won't have the interlock function but you will have the cool bend in it they used to accomodate the 97+ dash. Take it for what it's worth. I think I might also have a TCU laying around somewhere from a 91. Like I said just email me if you'd like.
