Need New Shocks - recommendations?

I used to run RS9000's and I always found they had to be on setting 4 for good handling, which also made them harsh. By adjusting rebound setting, they allow some slop and attempt to control it on the rebound. I switched to Bilsteins (8" lift), and I absolutely love them. They are kind of the opposite in not allowing the slop in the first place. They remind me of why I liked my 2" OME lift so much. The handling is tight but the ride is supple. I've always liked nitro shocks on the XJ - I think they are perfect.

As for not using this kind of shock offroad...they are made for offroad applications. There is no shock resistance to upward travel any more than the shock creates enough extra downward force to improve traction. I love the smoothness and control in all conditions, by far the best shock I have owned. And they have a lifetime warranty - just get another set when yours wear out.
