Need help clearing PM's

Hi, my private messages says Unread 7, Total 124.Ive tried to empty the folder, but it still says I have all these messages.What am I doing wrong?

It's a known fact that the PM counts are just plain wrong, and it's on my list of things to fix up. It's not going to happen overnight, it's going to take a fair amount of work on my part.
