Anybody have a gauge to measure the pump pressure on an AW4. I'm having tranny problems and would like to do a quick test. I can order one for less than $40 but I need it asap.

Tom, if the Jeep can make it out to Greeley you can use mine. I can't really loan it out though, it gets used almost every day.

Up. One trip to the grocery store and it crapped out. Hell the last one at least lasted one day wheeling :doh: It may end up being a simple problem.

Tom, I've been perusing the AW4 manual available in Pirate's tech section. Just wondering if the trans cable is adjusted tight enough? Looking at the solenoid on/off charts no solenoid changes state until 2nd in OD position, including reverse. Between the TCU check and the line pressure test, we'll get it figured out. See ya at 6?

Jon checked the line pressure and it was fine. We pulled the pan and it was full of little sparklies. The tranny is toast.

I want to keep that trans here to play with after it comes out. Never done an AW4 but been overhauling lots of other autos lately. Hmm.. you could buy an overhaul kit then sell it when I'm done. I'd do it just for the practice.

I've got a 21 spline laying around if you are intrested? Worked fine just before I took it out. I'm kinda tired of tripping over it!
