BBQ grill, that is. FYI, The Sports Authority is having a 25% off sale on BBQ grills... plus, several of the Weber models are on fantastic clearance prices to boot. I heard about it on Pirate, and went and bought a Weber Genesis Silver B, normally priced at $540, for $225. Clearance was $300, plus 25% off.

This is replacing a Fiesta 345, circa 1999 or so, that has served proudly at many a NAXJA event. (Taps playing in the background...) It still works, so I may turn it into a camp grill for future NAXJA events.

Gas grills are for women, fags or yankees. Which are you?

gas grills are for people who are lazy and hungry. I am both most of the time so
screw buying charcoal and then waiting for it to light. I like the simplicty of gas so I am going to stick with it.

A yankee, thank you very much. :chef:

And be careful, Ralphie, you'll shoot your eye out. :nono:

Mark you live in MO now. Take a little walk through that ravine in your backyard and find a hickory tree. Grab some deadfall limbs and go buy a SMOKER!! I'd recommend the Weber Smoky Mountain or a Bandera like I have. The Bandera was less than $200 end-o-season last year and is an offset so you can grill on one side or smoke with it too. If you must use gas it's real easy to make a burner to set in the Bandera for quickie grilling. The Bandera will hold a ton of meat and there's even a Group that is devoted to them. I usually load it full and then freeze most of it for later.

I don't know what a hickory tree looks like... and it's easier for me to just go to Super Smokers or Ethyl's. The grill is for basic burgers, chicken & steaks... I don't know anything about STL BBQ except that it is yummy.

Where are you finding good BBQ in St. Louis, Super Smokers is OK but everything else I've tried is shit. Southeast MO is where it's at for BBQ as far as I'm concerned.

That sounds like its a microwave that looks like a grill

I love to BBQ and this is the best grill I've ever owned! I will never grill on anything else, if possible.

Ruth Chris steak houses use these to cook their steaks.

I know a few women and gay men who can make some good Barbeque. Your right on as far as Yankees go. the first Yankee Barbeque I was invited to after moving up Nawth turned out to be Hamburgers and hot dogs. I tried to explain that they were grilling not barbequing, but it seemed to confuse them (ya know yankees aint too bright :D)

St. Louis style is on the low end of Barbeque, too sweet. Real barbeque comes from the Deep South. I especialy like the styles of Eastern Carolina, Georgia, and Texas. JMHO, I'm sure nobody else will agree with me.

I am looking for a better smoker though, I can only get about 2 full racks of ribs or 1 pork shoulder on mine.

Glad I was able to help somebody out, despite all the heckling.

Well, I'm new to the area, and as such haven't yet developed a discriminating taste. If it is meat, prepared over fire, and accompanied by an assortment of sides, I'm pretty much happy. I'll have to take a trip down there to try it... the closest I've gotten is Jackson, MO, IIRC, when I helped JP retrieve a parts XJ. That was a long day, Wentzville to South City STL, to Sullivan, to Jackson and back in the reverse order.

Kansas City is BBQ Country have you ever herd of the American Royal ( its one of the top 5 BBQ events in the WORLD. Also Kansas City is home of Arthur Bryant's , KC Master Pease, and Gates. The only Places i have been in my life that came close to KC BBQ is Memphis or the Carolinas. As for the Women and Fag(gay) comment most women are not big on cooking BBQ in the great outdoors, as for us FAGS the real men of the fag kingdom would not be caught dead using a darn GAS grill I am all about slow smoking and natural wood not fake stuff.

BBQ can be found everywhere these days. found a place in seattle wasn't too bad. a bit sour for my taste.
found another in florida was about the same in tenderness, but was a bit sweet. had some in texas at my sisters house (the neighbors are BBQ-a-holics) and it was prolly the best...i like it semi sweet and spicy...and to my fortune i found a place in S.F. ain't too bad...a bit too sweet but has the spice...as for grilling i use butane, mapp, propane, depends on which torch set i have with me... since everybodys taste is different the best is what you like best, but good BBQ can't be beat... and i side of mac n cheese..heaven.

I totally agree

The Genisis Silver B is a nice grill. I just so happen to assemble and sell grills for the largest Weber dealer in the state of MN (part of Ace Hardware) I'm the "Grill Guy" at work so feel free to ask me any questions about them. If you happen to be in the area ask for me and I might be able to "negotiate" a lower than listed price for ya! ..Er as low as the bossman will let me :). We also sell Char-broil (crap), Ducane, and another brand of grill (its late and I can't think of it now) with the largest model going for over $6K! I personally own a rusty old Weber charcoal and a cheapie off-brand gasser...
