NAC Guys - Pick me out a set of tires

What's a good livable compromise between highway driving and off-road grip? I need to make it 1 hr + to my trails or the beach.
A bit of winter traction would be an added benefit

I have stock 15" wheels and a 3" RC lift. I want to stay away from cutting up the fenders just yet :helpme: What size? 235/75s? Bigger?

What's good? What's horrible?

Goodyear Duratracs?
BFG A/T KOs?
BFG Mud Terrains?
Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts?
Firestone Destination A/Ts? M/Ts?
Pirelli Scorpian ATRs?
Yokohama Geolanders?
Michelin LTX A/T 2s?
Kumho Road Venture M/Ts?

Thanks guys

Why are you against cutting the fenders for now? You could save yourself an intermediate set of tires if you cut early and don't look back, because as soon as you trim the fenders...

BFG AT's for the same reason Colin says. 31s should clear without trimming. 33s will clear with trimming, but you'll probably want to regear with 33s. 31s you can get away without regearing, but it's not ideal.

They'll go onto factory wheels no problem. Don't let us decide for you tho.

My signature seems far too relevant.

I would vote for 31x10.5r15 bfg at's or general grabbers (at2 possibly) i had them on the same lift, and it was great for fuel (relative) and only rubbed the LCA's on full turn which i fixed with spacers

Duratracs if your only going to do mostly on road/very mild wheeling. side walls are too weak for and serious wheeling, Iv seen 4 blow out in the last 2-3 years.

otherwise their an awesome tire.

BFG A/T's, or Toyo A/T's I loved mine, are your best bet. Go to a one of the upcoming local auto swap meets, you can pick up a set of tires for short money. I scored four 90%+ 31" Toyos for $200. Similar BFG's were around $150-175 since theyre much more common. Theres usually always a guy with a tractor trailer at the shows selling sets of tires that I got mine from, couldnt have been more happy for the bang for the buck.

BFG A/Ts for light trail duty, beaches, and snow/ice driving.

They also last a really long time. Even longer if you regularly rotate them.

x2, except i'd go with general grabber AT2s since theyre just as good but usually 20 bucks cheaper a tire. if you want a more aggressive tire, MTZ.

I don't think they wear as well as BFG A/Ts.

Pretty sure Dundy was going through his faster than I went through my A/Ts.

My brother's 31s have over 60k miles on them at this point with probably 25% tread left.

i'll x56 whatever everyone else said about the bfg at's. But If it was me I would consider the duratracs. Havent heard a bad thing about them yet and they appear a bit more aggressive.

lol

rob blew 1 side wall dita blew one and tod blew one. I saw one more but cant remember who it was.

but everyone always loves them other than that.

You have iroks, your input on any tire conversation is invalid
