I am sad to say, I am selling my XJ. It has been a faithful friend, but I no longer have the facilities to own/maintain two cars of my own. I am selling this and my car and purchasing a GC hopefully. Bottom, line, I'm looking for $2000 as it sits. I'll keep the info simple, since you guys know these things.
AW4, 231, 8.25 with 3.55
142k miles, original powertrain
No oil leak, just got a new valve cover gasket and OFA ring set. RMS is good. Header is leaking a bit. Drive shaft could use a good lubing to kill the notorious "clunk". Engine burns little to no oil. Tranny has good fluid in it, did a slow, progressive series of drain and fills capped off by a run of Seafoam Trans Tune to help with a sticky solenoid. Rear axle is from a '98, the inner seals on the original were toast. Diff fluid was changed when the axle was installed. Cat converter is a year old, rest of exhaust is in good shape, no leaks except for the header. Sony CD/mp3 player with front aux input. Auto-Dimming rear-view mirror. Cargo Liner. New Oil Pressure Sensor and Heater Control Valve. NEVER lifted, off-roaded or abused. Clean Carfax if you run it, it was clean when I bought it. Clean MA title from previous owner (RI doesn't issue new titles for cars over 10 years old). 4WD is good, has driver's airbag. Floors are GOOD.
Needs: A/C compressor (what XJ doesn't), headliner, and possibly a windshield. There's a crack in it, it's legal, but the crack hasn't found another edge yet. It's in the lower right hand corner near the inspection sticker. The sticker is an RI one and good until November, 2011.
