My VDub Axial Crawler R/C Car

Sneak Peek at the new look for Rob's old Venom Creeper
001-1.jpg

changes made:
Tires
added weight to tires and wheels
new upper rear links and mounts
upgraded springs
revalved and oiled shocks

new parts are still comming in, I smoked the steering servo while chasing the dogs around the house today.

its becomming a beastly crawler with a lot of wheel speed on tap for flinging mud and doing donuts :p

yeah i saw that, problem is, i dont think people really want to pay that much for a rc crawler up front...they also dont understand how much upgrades and breaks are going to cost....any one that knows this rc knows theres a lot of good crap on it, but when you can get one out of the box for 300 and think thats all youre going to spend, you would rather pay the 300 than the 550...and the fact that its christmas time as well doesnt help!
could always toss a add up on rccrawler brobally your best bet on selling whole!

got wheels and tires plus a steering servo ( i need a new drag link to make it work right mine is to short lol) and im checking out a lipo setup as soon as the damn rain quits

Sweet! I'm buying Cory's 4-link setup and a battery mount tray that relocates it to the front axle. WHY they would come with the battery on top is beyond me. They simply MUST know that makes them top-heavy. :D

Marketing schemes...

Well been spending a few hours here and there on my R1 I got at Xmas. The RC4WD alum beadlocks are GARBAGE! DO NOT BUY! ALL thier beadlocks actually. they dont lock the tire to the rim, so whats the use. They did refund my $ but still. Why sell em?

SO I did a fair amount of the alum upgrades and puched the front and rear out some, and repositioned the shocks some and raised the rear links and triangulated the uppers with a link mount conv kit, for some reason the horizontal separation of the upper and lower links was so bad, that without a trackbar the axle would shift side to side about a inch. So after the link conversion mounts, now its how it should have been.

Still need to put the lower delrin skid on and pull the lower frame mounts in to the inside, the skid is provisioned for that. And then new steel driveshafts, and put the body panels on. Buts it close.

The battery is only a 2S lipo on the rear axle at 1500mah so wondering how long that will last with the 44t motor though.

I did do a 4ch radio, and concidering for the hell of it to do a 2light light bar and maybe a winch, just cause.. lol

Well they have half circle steel weights that are held on to the inside center of the wheel with large Orings that do weigh alot...

Like these but in 2.2 You can kinda make it out. These are the Bomb, well from all the ones I have tried in the past.
