MY NEW JEEP!!!

who ya gonna trust, me or a guy whose claim to fame is cheese and bacon? :greensmok

that's what I thought.

...and I have 9" of lift.

Now now Dan, that is not my only claim to fame, in my early days with the APA (amatuer porn association) I was known as Stubby McFatness..for more then one reason, well, not really.....

and trust me, you dont want to trust me.....

well, I have a crysler 3 and a quarter in it and it has lockers too, not really sure if it makes a diffrent or not. but is it bigger than the D30?

I think you mean Chrysler 8 and a quarter... And if you talk to most people they will tell you the Axle Food chain goes something like this:

D30<D35<C8.25<D44

So if you have the C8.25 its one of the stronger axles but if you have 7 inches of lift, you might want to look into something bigger.
Also, you said you have lockers, which also can take a toll on your axles. Be aware of that...\
There is a thread devoted to determining what axle you have if you are unsure, Im too lazy to link but im sure you can find it.

I dont know if you meant to throw in a front axle with three other rear axles but if you did mean to a dana 30 should out last a dana 35.

dana 35s are complete junk

i run a dana 30 up front and a 8.25" in the rear with 4.56 gears and lockers at both ends on 34" tires. no complaints

He asked if the C8.25 was bigger than a D30... So I answered him lol.:eyes:

So you think a D30 will outlast a D35? I thought Dana axles strength correlated to its number?

And you are correct, you wont find any d30s in the rear of an XJ.

Ya it is an c8.25 my bad... I was talking to an off roading shop and he said I should not even change the front or rear axels out because it would cost to much. He informed me of yukon express and the 31 spline and to put that it to both the front and rear axel it is cheaper and just as good to a d44

welcome

springfield is a great place-go through there often good looking jeep but one question-why the 3 steering stabilizers?
Picture100.jpg

Ya... not really sure, they were on there when I bought it. Just never took them off

I would investigate the need for 3 stabilizers....

Pull them off....drive it....see if it wobbles...fix the problems if it does.

Makes me wonder if there is a reason.....

So about the three stabilizers... they were really pointless I cut off the two attached to the tie rod and the axel and got a new one on the track bar... I need to tighten the track bar a little it shakes but drivable... I am still wondering why the retard before me put them on!!!

I got rid of the 35's  and put on some Mickey Thompsons 33's the Baja claw. I have yet to take it off-roading but am going to SMORR the end of June so can’t wait to see how she handles, anyway thanks for all your opinions on all this shit you’re a lot of help, and I am glad I joined the forum!

youll love the claws. and 33s will do you much better by actually fitting in those untrimmed wheel wells.

acctually I have done some mods on it after those pictures were taking, i cut out all the wheel wells, the 35's fiit pretty good under it, just I was wanting some that were goingt to fit even better. but i do like the 33's better.
